Bob Kerrey Joins Kleeb for Congress Campaign

DUNNING, NE-The Kleeb for Congress campaign office announced Wednesday that Bob Kerrey, governor of Nebraska from 1983 to 1987 and US Senator from 1989 to 2001, will serve as chair of the Kleeb for Congress campaign finance committee.

"I am deeply honored to have one of Nebraska's most respected leaders join my campaign," Kleeb said. "I look forward to working with him in the months ahead to make this is one of the most spirited campaigns in recent Nebraska history."

Kerrey, a decorated war veteran and successful Nebraska businessman, is currently president of the New School University in New York City. He is also member of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, also known as the 9-11 Commission.

"I am deeply impressed with Scott's commitment to thinking deeply about the issues facing Central and Western Nebraska," Kerrey said in a statement. "He envisions a Nebraska with jobs and people flowing in instead of out. If that vision is to be realized, we need leaders with the energy and intelligence to promote fresh ideas. And Scott is such a leader." <p>
