A Simple Choice: Oil or Corn; Saudi Arabia or Nebraska
KEARNEY, NE – Scott Kleeb, democratic candidate for Congress in the 3rd District, has called a press conference for Monday, June 26, 8:00 to 8:15 a.m. in Grand Island.
Standing beside a 2006 Ford F150 flex-fuel truck (flex fuel vehicles can run on 85 percent ethanol fuel, or E85), Scott will explain how Nebraska can lead the way to energy independence if Washington breaks off its cozy relationship with Big Oil and gets serious about investing in ‘farm-to-fuel’ alternatives.
Scott will talk specifically about the potential of a fully-developed biofuel industry to inject new life into struggling rural economies. To drive home the point, he will introduce a new Kleeb for Congress slogan: “Energy Independence Starts Here.”
A press packet will be made available at the event. It will outline the tremendous economic benefits a fully developed biofuel industry can bring to Nebraska. It will also outline how federal policy, driven by Big-Oil lobbyists and special interest groups like the Club for Growth, has dramatically failed to embrace alternative energies.
DIRECTIONS: The press conference will take place from 8:00 to 8:15 a.m., Monday, June 26, near the intersection of West South Front Street and North Eddy Street in Grand Island. From the intersection of these two streets, media should drive one-half block to the East along the railroad track. This is where Kleeb for Congress staff and supporters will be gathered. Please call Ben Lumpkin at 308-293-5115 with questions.
